The role

Senior Consultant, Patient-Centered Research

Location: UK, remote

Hours: 80–100%; flexible hours

Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK

Who you are…

You have a first degree in health economics, science, or a related quantitative discipline. You’ve probably also got a postgraduate qualification in economics, health economics, public health, or similar. You have 5+ years’ experience working in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), or patient-centered research, either for a consultancy or within a pharmaceutical company. You can demonstrate your competency in client management and tick all the boxes for core consultancy skills – team working, problem solving, customer focus, organization, project management, report writing, and communication.

You are interested in and have a high-level understanding of drug development, licensing, and commercialization. You are familiar with the key players in healthcare decision-making, and understand the organization of public healthcare systems, ideally across several countries. You are keen to play your part in the development of a high-growth, innovative (and fun!) company, progressively earning responsibility as quickly as you can demonstrate your talents.

You enjoy leading multiple and diverse strategic, technical, and complex projects relating to HEOR and patient research, where you act as the day-to-day client contact and take responsibility for strengthening existing client relationships. You have past experience of proposal development and drafting project budgets, and are interested in expanding your skills in business development.

You are an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail. You’ll have your own core area of expertise, but you’ll also need to be versatile and agile, and prepared to turn your hand to a wide range of projects and assignments. You apply your own technical expertise, and engage and coordinate team members, senior colleagues, clients, and external advisors to supplement your knowledge and skillset, delivering complex projects through a collaborative approach.

What you’ll do…

You will work with autonomy and a proactive approach, leading and supporting project teams of various sizes. You will oversee projects in HEOR and patient research (including qualitative research, survey development, and patient preference research) from concept through to design and delivery.

As a project lead, you will ensure that client expectations regarding quality and delivery are met or exceeded and implement performance measurement, issue-reporting, and resolution processes. You will also contribute to the delivery of our digital real-world evidence projects where appropriate.

In close collaboration with the business leads, you will participate actively in business development activities, proactively identifying improvements to existing services and potential new solutions for clients. You will lead the development of proposals and project budgets and effectively communicate these to potential clients with confidence.

You will support the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring targets are met in your business area(s), contributing to the growth and development of the organization. You’ll help implement company strategy in your area(s), monitoring and evaluating performance and identifying strategies for improvement where necessary.

You’ll help build a strong team and role-model our culture as well as helping to develop staff through training and coaching and by creating and maintaining methodologies, tools, and training materials.

Sorry, but it’s a no unless you have…

  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite – intermediate-level Excel and high-level Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills: fluency in English (spoken and written). Ability to present to clients in person and via teleconference calls (e.g., via Microsoft Teams)
  • Shown yourself to be a great team member – senior and junior team members alike love working with you
  • Fantastic time management and personal organizational skills.

Bonus points for…

  • Commercial awareness and a good understanding of health technology assessment and the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strategic knowledge of leading international health systems
  • Languages other than English to a standard that is useful at work.

  • If this sounds like you…

Excellent! We’d love to hear from you: please email your CV and cover letter to .
