Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Engineer / Associate Engineer for our Building Services practice, based in Epsom, with over 100 engineers in the LSE Region. You will work closely with bid teams to identify business opportunities, develop comprehensive bid responses, and manage project design teams.
Requirements:
* Degree qualified in Electrical discipline, Chartered with a relevant institution, and minimum 7 years experience.
* Ability to influence senior management and industry peers positively.
* Experience in secure projects such as Defense/Nuclear.
* High technical standing as an Electrical Building Services Engineer.
* Extensive project experience with high technical competence.
* Experience with major multi-discipline design projects.
* Leadership and people management skills with potential to lead a team.
* Good commercial awareness and business management skills.
* Customer-focused with strong relationship management skills.
* Effective communication skills and professional client interaction.
* Structured approach to report writing.
Responsibilities:
Commercial:
* Identify and secure project opportunities; take commercial responsibility for team delivery.
* Bid for projects in compliance with guidelines.
* Manage project costs.
People:
* Develop relationships with clients and manage client strategies.
* Manage team performance and provide leadership and motivation.
* Conduct appraisals and personal development plans.
* Recognize and develop talent within the team.
Technical:
* Full technical responsibility for Building Services team output.
* Familiar with industry standards and guidelines.
* Communicate and challenge design team members to optimize solutions.
* Design background with ability to lead Electrical and Building Services teams.
* Extensive electrical design experience in construction.
* Understand key design considerations for projects.
Business Development:
* Develop and implement marketing plans.
* Create marketing material and bid documents.
* Build and nurture client relationships.
The role is based in Epsom, requiring attendance three days a week at the office, with the remainder hybrid. Travel to clients and sites may be necessary.
