Salary:
Unqualified: Base salary of £29,112.72 to £30,008.16 upon successful completion of the probation period.
Qualified: Base salary of £30,641.52 (based on completion of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent).
Specific Hours: 08:00am - 20:00pm (12-hour shifts)
Location: Greater London (Covering Area Camden homes in Camden, Haringey & Islington)

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the welfare of our young people. Your daily contributions will not only keep them safe but also foster their growth, learning, and development. You will be a key figure in bridging the gap between Area Camden and the local community, helping young individuals with emotional and behavioral challenges reach their full potential.
Main Responsibilities
* Collaborate with your team to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes positive development for the young people in our care.
* Provide emotional and social support, helping young individuals build meaningful relationships and engage with their local communities.
* Encourage self-esteem and ensure each young person feels respected and valued.
* Support young people in making positive life choices and achieving independence.
* Maintain accurate records of events and observations, including daily and monthly progress updates.
* Assess the needs of children and young people, contributing to the formulation and review of care plans.
* Work closely with managers, health advisors, social workers, and other professionals, including family involvement when necessary.
* Assist young people with daily living needs in line with their individual care plans.
* Carry out domestic duties, involving young people in meal planning, shopping, and preparation to ensure a balanced diet.
Required Attributes
* Ability to engage positively and proactively with young people.
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
* Sensitive and reflective in your approach.
* Strong listening and empathy skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in the care sector or residential care is preferred.
* Relevant qualification or commitment to undertake a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
* Willingness to work some Bank Holidays.
