A dynamic and inspiring Drama Teacher is sought by a well-regarded Independent co-educational school in Islington. The successful candidate will foster creativity, confidence, and a deep appreciation for theatre in students across Key Stages 3 to 5.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Drama Teacher lessons covering performance, script analysis, and theatre history across Key Stages 3 to 5.
* Prepare students effectively for GCSE and A-Level Drama examinations and practical performances.
* Cultivate a supportive and collaborative environment where students can explore their dramatic talents and develop their performance skills.
* Contribute to the organisation of extracurricular drama clubs, school productions, and theatre trips.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Drama or Performing Arts.
* Demonstrated experience teaching Drama at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4), with A-Level experience being advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of dramatic literature, performance techniques, theatre history, and contemporary theatre practices.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and directorial skills, capable of inspiring students and leading successful theatrical productions.
* Inner London Payscale.
* Supportive and collaborative Performing Arts department within an Independent school.
* Access to well-equipped drama studios, performance spaces, and technical resources.
* Opportunities for continuous professional development in Drama education and theatre practice, including directing and design.
