Principal Teacher Salary Scale Point 2 (£57,429 per annum). Days of work: Tuesday – Friday. Temporary position until 26th June 2026, start ASAP.
Background
Dunbar Primary School is a large school split over two campuses with a roll of over 1,100 pupils from Nursery to Primary 7. The John Muir Campus hosts fifteen P1–P3 classes and five nursery rooms, while the Lochend campus contains nineteen P4–P7 classes. Responsibilities
* Curricular development and quality assurance.
* Contribute to the development of school policy in relation to behaviour management of pupils.
* Management and guidance of colleagues: review CPD needs, career development and performance.
* Provision of advice, support and guidance to colleagues.
* Leadership, management and strategic direction of pastoral care within the school.
* Assist in the management, deployment and development of pastoral care staff.
* Implement whole‑school policies dealing with guidance, pastoral care, assessment and pupil welfare.
* Work in partnership with colleagues, parents and specialist agencies as appropriate.
* Share best practice with class teachers and progress School Improvement Plan priorities.
* Assist in overall administration of the school and aspects of the School Improvement Plan.
* Line management for support staff and budget responsibility for PEF.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full GTCS Registration (General).
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Position is a regulated role with vulnerable children / protected adults – PVG Scheme membership required or must be updated prior to offer.
* Must provide overseas criminal record check if spent more than 3 months outside the UK in the last 5 years.
