We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Software Tester to join our development team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in software testing and quality assurance. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with experienced testers and developers, learning how to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the design and execution of test plans and test cases.
2. Perform manual testing of web applications.
3. Document and report bugs and issues clearly and accurately.
4. Work closely with developers to understand features and resolve issues.
5. Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
6. Learn how to use testing tools and methodologies.
7. Support the QA team in regression, integration, and system testing.
8. Maintain test documentation and contribute to continuous improvement.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
9. A passion for technology and software development.
10. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
11. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
12. Willingness to learn and take initiative.
13. GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Desirable:
14. Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle.
15. Familiarity with any programming language (Ideally C#).
16. Exposure to testing tools or platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps, Playwright, Swagger, Postman, MS SQL Server).
17. Completed or enrolled in a relevant apprenticeship or training program.
Training & Development:
18. On-the-job training with experienced QA professionals.
19. Access to online learning platforms and certifications.
20. Opportunities to progress into Junior Tester or QA Analyst roles.
