The Community Cohesion & Cultural Learning Officer will promote wellbeing and social cohesion through opportunities for learning and cultural engagement. Access to and participation in cultural life can significantly contribute to wellbeing and foster a sense of belonging and shared identity.
This role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to play a key part in bringing together communities and creative practitioners to explore and celebrate the rich culture of Sefton. Based at the Atkinson, Southport, you will lead efforts in uniting community-based creatives of all ages to produce a diverse programme of cultural activities and events.
You will nurture effective partnerships across council services, community groups, creative practitioners, and learning providers. Your role will encourage cultural engagement to foster greater community understanding, helping to build a more vibrant community.
Responsibilities include project management, supporting the delivery of high-quality, family-friendly cultural events and activities that are accessible and enjoyed by a wide range of audiences.
Candidates should have experience in delivering successful creative learning and engagement programmes within a cultural context, including aspects of fundraising and supporting the monitoring and evaluation of externally funded projects.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a confident communicator with a passion for culture and learning. You should be able to think creatively, plan meticulously, and work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to building resilient and inclusive communities within Sefton.
This is a fixed-term post for 18 months, based at the Atkinson in Southport, and will require working across Sefton as needed.
