Role: Student Services Coordinator
Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £24,720 and £29,870 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays,People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Student Services Coordinator to join our Student Services department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Student Services Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Careers & Student Support – Delivers high-quality careers advice and guidance, supports bursary applications, and provides personal support for pastoral, welfare, and financial matters to students and prospective applicants.
2. Programme Development & Collaboration – Designs and delivers a cross-college careers programme, works closely with internal and external stakeholders, and contributes to raising aspirations and progression into further education or employment.
3. Safeguarding & Compliance – Maintains accurate safeguarding records, promotes child protection policies, and ensures all advice and guidance is up-to-date and aligned with College procedures.
4. Customer Service & Communication – Provides excellent service to all stakeholders, supports College events, maintains welcoming information points, and ensures clear communication across departments.
5. Teamwork & College Engagement – Collaborates across departments, supports enrolment and ID checks, participates in open days and disciplinary hearings, and contributes to the wider Student Services and College strategy.
About you:
6. Qualifications & Technical Skills – Holds Level 2 English and Maths, a Level 3 relevant qualification, and either holds or is willing to work towards a Level 6 Careers IAG qualification and Youth Mental Health First Aid certification.
7. Experience & Customer Focus – Experienced in working with adults and young people in both group and 1:1 settings, organising events, and providing high-quality service in customer-focused environments.
8. Communication & Administration – Skilled in written and verbal communication across all levels, with strong administrative abilities including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and formal correspondence.
9. Teamwork & Personal Attributes – Friendly, outgoing, and a positive team contributor with initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to motivate others and work flexibly across sites.
10. Safeguarding & Professional Standards – Committed to safeguarding, equality, and continuous development, with good attendance and timekeeping, and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with vulnerable groups.
