Job Overview As Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at The Quay Hotel & Spaa luxury 4-star property with 80 bedrooms, an AA-Rosette restaurant and a waterfront Cove Bar,youll support the smooth delivery of outstanding dining and beverage services across all outlets. With sweeping views of Conwy Estuary, Conwy Castle, and the Snowdonia foothills, the hotel prides itself on seasonal, locally sourced menus and warm Welsh hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day oversight of service across The Ebb & Flow Restaurant, Cove Bar, Terrace and ensuring consistency, ambience and guest satisfaction.
Staff leadership, including assisting with recruitment, training, and motivating FOH team members.
Guest experience enhancement, continuously maintaining high standards and intervening promptly to resolve guest concerns.
Inventory control & stock ordering, Oversee inventory levels of food, beverages, and operational supplies to ensure seamless service delivery.
Service coordination, Collaborate with chefs, food and beverage teams and event coordinators to ensure smooth execution of service across all food and beverage outlets. Manage restaurant seating plans, afternoon tea sessions, private dining arrangements, and special events to maintain consistency in service quality, guest experience, and operational efficiency.
Cost control & financial monitoring, c ontrol of all costs and stock to ensure profitability within the food and beverage department
Quality control & compliance, ensuring health & hygiene standards, licensing, allergen handling and safety protocols in line with hotel policy and legislation
Qualifications & Experience Minimum 3 years of management experience in a hotel/restaurant setting
Knowledge of managing dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free
Strong leadership, communication, and customer service ethos.
Comfortable managing peak service times, weekend/evening shifts, and high-volume settings.
Experience with POS and inventory systems; ability to analyse sales data and trends.
Awareness of health & safety, licensing, and hazard analysis.
