Security Officer – Gloucester (Full‑time, DV Clearance Required)

About the Role
We're looking for a committed Security Officer to join our team in Gloucester. In this role, you'll provide essential security services, including site protection, patrolling, CCTV monitoring, and visitor management. Please note: DV clearance is mandatory and must be obtained before starting. This process can take up to 12 months and involves a detailed background check.
Eligibility Criteria
* Hold a valid SIA Licence
* Be a British citizen
* Have at least 5 years of checkable work history
Key Responsibilities
* Control access for authorised personnel
* Monitor site activity via Access Control Systems and CCTV
* Conduct patrols and daily alarm checks
* Respond to alarms and manage visitor reception
* Provide out‑of‑hours MDL Service Desk support
* Perform random searches and deter unauthorised entry
* Handle suspect packages per agreed procedures
* Deliver security services across two sites
* Support colleagues and cover absences
* Undertake ad‑hoc tasks as directed
Person Specification
* Previous security experience helpful but not essential
* SIA Licence holder and CCTV trained
* Strong communication skills and IT literate
* Customer‑focused with a commitment to protecting people and assets
* Ability to meet KPIs and SLAs
* Willingness to undertake additional training for continuous development
