We are seeking a pro-active, hardworking, passionate and forward thinking individual to provide pharmacy expertise, clinical excellence, leadership, innovation and development in Neuroscience/MS management. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver seamless care for patients within Neurosciences. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Neurology, MS or Long term Conditions management, and holistic patient care. As treatments for Neuroscience/Multiple Sclerosis patients continue to advance, this post provides a varied experience as well as flexible and challenging opportunities for personal and professional development.
Main duties of the job
You will provide expert advice, education and support to the patient with Neuroscience conditions/MS and their families/carers from the time of diagnosis and throughout the course of their condition. This will be achieved by working collaboratively and establishing good and effective working relationships across the primary secondary care interface. You will liaise with key people within South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust including Pharmacy, Homecare services, Obstetrics, Neuropsychology and other key partners. You will provide expert pharmacy advice and promote a wider understanding of Neuroscienes/MS for other professionals through education and training.
The role of the pharmacist is multifaceted incorporating key functions such as policy and standards development, practice development, service development, education, research and audit and personal and professional development. The ultimate aim is the provision of a cost effective, efficient, excellent quality service which meets the needs of the patient caseload / client group.

Experience
Essential criteria
1. Wealth of experience in clinical pharmacy within a hospital setting
2. Previous experience in Neurosciences
Desirable criteria
3. Experience in mentorship and training for other staff
Qualifications
Essential criteria
4. Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
5. Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
6. Pharmacist independent prescribing accreditation
7. Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent relevant postgraduate clinical qualification
Knowledge
Essential criteria
8. Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to ward/clinic based situations
9. Strong knowledge of medicines information resources
