The FI Construction team is excited to be recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task, prioritize workload to meet deadlines, and possess excellent organizational skills along with extensive civil works experience.
The role will be based in Chorley, Lancashire, but may require travel to other sites, so a driving licence and flexibility are required.
Your key duties as a Quantity Surveyor will include:
* Understanding and complying with Company Procedures
* Aiming to achieve or exceed budgeted margins by exploring opportunities, alternative methods of completing works, and procurement strategies without compromising relationships
* Submitting valuations in accordance with main contract conditions and ensuring timely receipt of payments, taking full responsibility for the contract's cash position
* Completing monthly CVR reports accurately reflecting current site status and final profit projections
* Administering main contract conditions and preparing timely contractual notices for all events
* Pricing and agreeing contract variations promptly while maximizing entitlement
* Demonstrating a good working knowledge of the contract during Preconstruction Stage
* Procurement of supply chain orders reflecting scope of works, and administering them accurately, including valuation, certification, and payment notices
* Achieving timely final account agreement with clients and supply chain, maintaining strong relationships
* Monitoring site progress through site walks and liaising with the Project Manager
* Assessing how progress impacts costs
* Providing cost advice to influence project decision-making
* Performing other duties as reasonably requested by the Commercial Manager
