Responsibilities: We ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our network and telecom systems. We monitor network performance, trends, and events, and advise the ICT Infrastructure Manager on technical matters. We assist with installations, fault rectification, repairs, redesigns, maintenance, modification, backup, and patching of network and telecom devices. We support research and development of ICT infrastructure technologies and assess their suitability for our service environment. We provide infrastructure support to other ICT teams and liaise with service providers, equipment providers, and public authorities. We represent the Infrastructure team at meetings and contribute to project delivery. We assist with contract specifications, project scopes, tariffs, and price plan reviews to achieve best value for money. We produce statistics and reports and respond to Freedom of Information requests. We cascade knowledge through documentation, verbal guidance, and training for ICT colleagues and users. We maintain stock levels and assist with asset database auditing. We participate in a rota to support critical incidents during unsociable hours and weekends. We assist the Infrastructure team with projects and tasks to meet targets, deadlines, and resilience needs. We carry out any other duties appropriate to the grade and role.
