Duties Description The Real Property Services Administrator 1, under the general direction of a Real Property Services Administrator 2 performs the following duties:
• Manage at least one bureau within the Office of Real Property Tax Services.
• Energize staff to perform assigned tasks intended to achieve the goals of the bureau and ensure that staff and other resources are effectively and efficiently utilized.
• Develop staff through mentoring, coaching and providing them with the opportunity for training.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff, local government officials, taxpayers, and management.
• Oversee the development of bureau work plans, priorities, and schedules. Monitor staff performance to ensure that we are meeting performance measures.
• Comprehend and adhere to the real property tax law and ensure that staff is aware of any and law and procedural changes.
• Ensure the quality and timeliness of all external communications.
• Respond to local government officials to resolve complicated and sensitive matters related to real property tax administration.
• Participate in the Department’s effort to modernize the various computer systems used by the Office of Real Property Tax Services.
•Represent the Office of Real Property Tax Services during State Board of Real Property Tax Service meetings and hearings, and association meetings.
• Assist in the implementation of policy and legislative changes.
•Assist in the preparation of training materials and delivery of training to both internal staff and external customers.
•Travel when necessary to attend conferences, provide training and meet with Regional Office staff.
•Participate in and/or lead special projects and any complete other relevant job duties as assigned.
• Adhere to all Department policies and time and attendance rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications The selected candidate must be eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law or reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title and location in accordance with the provisions of Civil Service Law, Rules and Regulations.
