Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and committed Children's Social Worker to provide critical support to our team based at Mercury House, Richmond. This is a short-term, office-based assignment covering the recruitment process within the Children & Young People's Service.
About the Role
You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people, working directly with families, professionals, and multi-agency partners. You will be expected to manage complex cases, including child protection and court proceedings, while delivering high-quality assessments and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver statutory social work services to children and families in line with legislation and best practice.
* Manage a varied caseload, including child protection and court cases.
* Undertake assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans.
* Work closely with families and partner agencies to ensure child safety and wellbeing.
* Prepare and present high-quality court reports and attend hearings as necessary.
* Record all work to a high standard and in a timely manner.
Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
* Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience within children's social care
* Extensive experience in child protection and court proceedings
* Strong knowledge of child welfare legislation
* Skilled in systemic practice and strength-based approaches
* Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* No current annotations or restrictions on your SWE registration
Assignment Details:
* Mon-Thu: 8:30am - 5:00pm
* Fri: 8:30am - 4:30pm
* Office-based position at Mercury House, Richmond
