An exciting opportiny has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our clients talented team based at their head office in Lincoln. Our client is a privately owned business based in Lincoln with a reputation for delivering quality Civil Engineering projects within Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas undertaking a range of interesting and diverse projects.
Key Responsibilities as an Estimator
* Monitor relevant planning authority websites to identify work opportunities if needed.
* Pursue opportunities to obtain tender documents.
* Completion and submission of PQQs Pre Contracts.
* Maintain material suppliers database on Conquest.
* Assess tender documents to enure sufficient information available to prepare a tender.
* Liaise with Accounts Manager to run a credit check on all new clients and liaise with MD and Commercial Manager on credit report and any other feedback from people about new clients.
* Take off quantities as and when required.
* Prepare and issue sub-contract enquiries and assessment of quotations upon receipt including material and sub contractor comparisons.
* Pricing of Excavations, Concrete, Brickwork, Drainage, External works and minor landscaping.
* Complete tender documents for submission including tender qualification letters and marked up drawings on what has been allowed for in the tender.
* Tender adjudication meeting to be held for every tender with MD to discuss OH+P recovery and scope of works, discuss possible risks and provisional sums.
* Prepare specifications and / or contractors proposals,
* Submit tenders and follow up with client feedback to be filtered back to all estimators.
* Liaise with the buying department on material uplifts.
* Liaise with the commercial team on rates and uplifts with sub contractors.
* Annual check on labour and plant rates with operations manager / MD.
* Ensure that all tender information is logged onto all relevant systems, and that the tender register is updated and made available to all the estimating department and the MD.
