Setting and operating manual lathes to machine precision components to tight tolerances. Working with large and complex parts, ensuring accuracy and high-quality standards. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents. Using precision measuring tools for quality checks and first-off inspections. Collaborating with engineers and machinists to maintain smooth production flow.
Responsibilities
 * Setting and operating manual lathes to machine precision components to tight tolerances.
 * Working with large and complex parts, ensuring accuracy and high-quality standards.
 * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
 * Using precision measuring tools for quality checks and first-off inspections.
 * Collaborating with engineers and machinists to maintain smooth production flow.
Qualifications
 * Proven experience as a Manual Turner (X, Y, Z axis).
 * Confident working from detailed engineering drawings.
 * Experience with large or heavy components is desirable.
 * Basic CNC machining knowledge is an advantage, but not essential.
 * Hands-on, reliable, and eager to learn - training will be provided.
 * Strong attention to detail and a positive, proactive attitude.
Benefits & Details
 * £18.00 - £19.00 per hour (DOE)
 * Full-time, permanent position - 40 hours per week
 * Monday-Thursday: 08:00-16:30
 * Friday: 08:00-12:00
 * Overtime available (paid at time and a half)
