Our client is a well-established main contractor operating nationwide, with a strong presence across the South East. Due to an increase in project workload, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a contract basis with an immediate start available.
This role requires a commercially strong QS with broad construction knowledge and experience across demolition and civil engineering packages.
The Role
The Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, ensuring financial control and contractual compliance throughout.
You will work closely with operational and commercial teams to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full commercial management of projects under Design & Build contracts
2. Managing demolition and civil engineering packages
3. Subcontract procurement and package management
4. Preparing and submitting valuations and applications for payment
5. Managing variations and change control
6. Cost forecasting and CVR reporting
7. Assessing subcontractor applications and payments
8. Supporting final account negotiations
9. Ensuring contractual compliance and risk management
Requirements
10. Proven experience working for a main contractor
11. Strong knowledge and practical experience administering Design & Build contracts
12. Demonstrable experience within demolition and civils packages
13. Broad construction background with strong commercial awareness
14. Confident communicator, capable of liaising with clients and site teams
15. Ability to operate independently and manage multiple workstreams
