Job Description
We are looking for a practical and proactive Facilities Coordinator to help keep our Ellesmere Port site running smoothly and safely. You will organise and oversee day-to-day maintenance, ensure health and safety standards are met, and manage on-site contractors.
What You’ll Do
* Ensure all building services (like water, gas, heating) operate safely and efficiently
* Respond to issues around the site – from small fixes to arranging professional help
* Organise and supervise contractors for repairs and minor works
* Assist in improving the site through general upkeep and housekeeping projects
* Maintain clear records of work carried out
* Identify and report health & safety risks and assist in resolving them
* Ensure all work complies with SGS’s safety, equality, and integrity standards
Qualifications
* Good knowledge of general building maintenance and services
* Hands-on experience with building maintenance
* Good communication skills
* Driving License
Desirable Skills
* FLT License
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, and joinery
* Experience supervising contractors or working in a lab environment
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC) or equivalent experience
