Element has an opportunity for a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services.
A successful candidate will have a solid foundation as a security engineer, responsible for securing complex global environments and designing security solutions at scale. Expertise in application, cloud, and infrastructure domains is essential.
This hybrid role involves designing and implementing secure technical solutions to protect against cyber threats, with a focus on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
* Assist in designing and implementing security solutions and toolsets to address vulnerabilities and automate tasks.
* Contribute to the planning and management of the security tooling roadmap.
* Engineer, implement, and monitor cybersecurity infrastructure and technologies.
* Create detection rules to identify suspicious activities and threats.
* Develop and optimize SIEM event correlation rules and content.
* Support project transitions into operational service.
* Develop new security tools for vulnerability mitigation and automation.
* Maintain design documentation and procedures.
* Conduct security checks and troubleshooting.
* Prepare operational procedures and protocols.
* Collaborate with the Cyber Defence team to uphold security practices.
* Support incident response efforts.
* Assist with operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude, believing in 'Security as an enabler'.
* Strong intellectual agility and adaptability.
* Expertise in at least one security domain: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, or Cloud Security.
* Ability to review and contribute to designs, reports, and standards.
* Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical findings to non-technical audiences.
* Up-to-date with security principles, techniques, and trends.
* Experience with networking in multi-site environments, including multinational connectivity.
* Knowledge of security technologies such as NDR, FW, IPS, IDS, EDR, MDR, DAST, SAST, IAM, SIEM, SOAR, and log management.
* Experience in cyber defense operations.
* Previous experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or as a Network/Server Engineer is beneficial.
* Experience working internationally and across cultures.
* Proactive communicator, comfortable interacting at all organizational levels.
* Interest or experience in working within complex, federated organizations and in infrastructure/application support is advantageous.
