CTA have partnered with a financial trading organisation who are looking to implement a IT service strategy and excellence on a global scale. We are seeking a Director of Service Excellence to shape and lead their Service Excellence function. This is a senior role with accountability for Service Design, Service Transition, Service Strategy from inception to delivery, following ITSM and ITIL best practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a senior technology leader, you will:
* Act as the key interface for IT Service Management Engineering stakeholders across all lines of business and group technology functions.
* Own and deliver the IT Service Strategy covering Service Transition, Service Design & Asset Management.
* Drive Technology Service Improvement Plans to enhance service effectiveness.
* Lead our Technology Data Office, overseeing CMDB, data mapping, and asset management controls (HAM/SAM).
* Ensure compliance with COBIT Control Library, assurance testing, and regulatory frameworks.
* Partner with business leaders to plan and manage the IT Service Strategy across BAU opex and capex programmes.
* Oversee regulatory, risk and control frameworks, delivering robust service management policies, processes and reporting.
* Collaborate with enterprise service tooling and data platform teams to drive automation and innovation.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience designing, operating, and leading globally diverse technology teams.
* Strong background managing large, complex service teams across multiple products and platforms.
* In-depth expertise in IT Service Management, Service Design and Service Transition.
* Significant leadership and people management experience in complex, matrixed organisations.
* Ability to influence and engage at executive and C-suite level.
* Demonstrated success in driving strategic business and technology change initiatives.
* Experience managing regulatory, risk, and compliance frameworks at scale.
* Act as the senior technology interface for IT Service Management across all business lines and technology functions.
* Define and evolve the IT Service Strategy operating model, embedding best practices and service governance across the enterprise.
* Lead the development and operation of service management policies and processes across incident, change, problem, release, and request fulfilment.
Service Design
* Own the Service Design framework, ensuring new and modified services are robust, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
* Define and maintain service catalogues, SLAs, OLAs, and capacity/demand plans to meet performance, continuity, and security requirements.
* Embed availability and continuity management into service design to strengthen resilience.
Service Transition
* Lead the Service Transition function, ensuring smooth handover of new or changed services into production.
* Define and govern release, deployment, and change management standards, minimising disruption and ensuring operational readiness.
* Oversee the CMDB, data mapping, and asset lifecycle management (HAM/SAM) to underpin transition and governance activities.
