We’re looking for a dedicated SEN Cover Supervisor to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs in a specialist educational setting near Dorchester.
This is a full-time role with an immediate start, ideal for someone passionate about inclusion, structure, and positive behaviour support.
About the Setting
This specialist school provides a nurturing, trauma-informed environment for pupils aged 7 to 18 with needs including:
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* ADHD
* Attachment and behavioural needs
The school is known for its supportive leadership, strong staff relationships, and a calm, child-centred approach, where every student is encouraged to grow academically and emotionally.
The Role
* Deliver pre-planned lessons and provide consistent classroom support
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Build trusted relationships with students
* Support pupils to re-engage with learning
Working hours:
* 8.45am to 3.45pm
* Some weekday end times may vary
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN
* Confident working with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
* A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
* Must be able to drive due to the school’s location

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
