Job Overview
Cellar Supplies are recruiting and would welcome applications from Class 2 (Category C) Dray Drivers. Drivers would operate rigid HGVs (typically over 7.5 tonnes) to deliver kegs, casks, and bottled drinks to pubs, bars, and restaurants. This physically demanding role involves multi-drop deliveries, manual handling of heavy loads, and sometimes working with a driver's mate. You may also drive other vehicles to deliver our products.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliveries: Transporting alcoholic/non-alcoholic goods to commercial customers, return of empties, collecting stock for distribution and navigating routes.
* Manual Handling: Delivering heavy barrels, kegs, and crates, requiring high physical fitness.
* Vehicle Checks: Conducting daily pre-journey vehicle safety checks (brakes, oil, tyres).
* Compliance: Adhering strictly to tachograph regulations, driver hours, and the Highway Code.
* Documentation: Properly logging deliveries, use of CRM system, managing invoices, and ensuring customer service.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Licence: Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV driving licence.
* Certification: Valid Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
* Experience: Previous multi-drop experience is required, with dray/beverage delivery experience highly desirable.
* Physical Fitness: Capability to handle heavy, manual loads daily.
* Safety Awareness: High level of alertness and commitment to health and safety standards.
* Good communication and customer service skills
Typical Working Conditions
* Hours: Usually between 8.00am and 5pm and alternate Saturday mornings. Sometimes an early start or late finish is required. 39.5 hours per week average.
* Salary: Dependant on experience.
