Engineering Lecturer (T Levels & Level 3 Programmes)
Full Time: 32.5 hours per week
Hours: 8:30am–4:00pm
Contract: Temporary (to cover staff absence)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Engineering Lecturer to support our Engineering department across a period of staff absence. You will work with learners aged 16–19 on a range of technical programmes, delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Year 1 and Year 2 groups.
Depending on your skillset and experience, the role may involve teaching across a blend of qualifications, including:
* T Level Engineering
* OCR Level 3 Extended Certificate in Engineering
* BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate
* Electronics (AS & A Level)
This is an excellent opportunity for an engaging educator with strong industry or academic experience to positively influence learners progressing toward technical careers or further study.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality teaching across assigned engineering qualifications.
* Plan and prepare lessons, learning materials, and assessment in line with curriculum requirements.
* Support students with varying abilities, ensuring strong progress and achievement.
* Contribute to departmental teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and assessment.
* Provide pastoral support where required, helping learners thrive both academically and personally.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
* Strong subject knowledge in Engineering (mechanical, electrical/electronic, or general).
* Experience teaching engineering at Level 3 (college or secondary/post-16 setting desirable).
* A UK recognised teaching qualification.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A commitment to delivering outstanding learner experiences.
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
