Office and Welcome Desk Coordinator

Chelmsford

20 hours per week

£14,.78 (full time equivalent £26,.37)

Are you a natural people-person who thrives on creating welcoming environments where students can flourish? We're looking for someone who'll be the friendly face and beating heart of our campus, transforming our Welcome Desk area into more than just an enquiry deskit's where students find the information, support, and sense of belonging they need to succeed. In this varied and rewarding role, you'll coordinate essential services, manage vibrant social and study spaces, and provide crucial administrative support that keeps everything running smoothly. If you're organised, approachable, and passionate about making a real difference to the student experience, we'd love to hear from you.

What will you be doing:

1. Be a first point of contact for queries, creating a warm welcome for visitors and demonstrating a well-rounded knowledge of the Union and its event and activities.
2. Administration for Welcome Desk services including; appointment booking, membership sales, till services and signposting to other relevant departments.
3. Liaise with university departments including cleaning, postage and maintenance teams ensuring services are maintained at all times.
4. Support the Chelmsford Campus Team with administrative tasks including room bookings, society support, risk assessment, office stock and purchases.
5. Assist with the maintenance of the Office and Kitchen areas.
6. Assist with the organisation of staff events including meetings and away days.
7. Actively participate in delivering key campus events including Elections and Welcome Week.
8. Promote an inclusive, supportive environment, encouraging student creativity and innovation.

13. Customer focused with the ability to work with a range of people

Experience we're looking for:

14. Experience of working in a customer-service related environment and the ability to recognise and deliver excellent service standards
15. Knowledge and understanding of current issues affecting students, students unions and the Higher Education sector.
16. Experience building relationships with a diverse range of personnel
