The Bid Manager will be responsible for tendering new civil engineering projects within the UK, focusing on Marine, Coastal, Flood Defence, and Water sectors. The successful candidate will be part of a leadership team preparing tenders ranging from £2m to £100m, overseeing estimation, tender design, commercial, programme, and quality submissions.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Manage and coordinate the Northwest-based bid team.
2. Develop tender-winning strategies.
3. Manage and oversee tender design, estimation, commercial, programme, and quality submissions.
4. Evaluate design options and determine optimal solutions.
5. Manage tender programme and budgets, resolving critical issues.
6. Develop working methods, evaluate alternatives, and select winning solutions.
7. Understand and analyze competitors.
8. Build and maintain strong relationships within the industry.
9. Compare and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
10. Research technologies and project backgrounds.
About You - Requirements:
* Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience, preferably in site management.
* Willingness to travel.
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Based in or willing to work from Preston (Home Office).
