- Ofsted - April 2023 Chesnut Lodge School is a maintained Special School for students from 2 – 16 years of age, with 85 students on roll. The school serves students from across the Borough of Halton (Runcorn and Widnes) predominantly with some students travelling from neighbouring authorities – Warrington, Knowsley, Liverpool and St Helens.
Chesnut Lodge has a SLD designation with a specific focus on being for pupils with physical/medical needs. There are an increasing number of pupils being admitted with cognition and learning difficulties, and profound and multiple learning difficulties, sensory impairments and/or communication difficulties.
About the Role
We are looking for a teacher who will be responsible for ensuring that each pupil receives an appropriate curriculum offer in line with their individual needs which will often include a sensory curriculum where appropriate, taking full account of the SEN of individual pupils and the class group. The curriculum will be based on a wide range of needs and will require a flexible and creative teacher who can plan to meet the demands of teaching in all phases from EYFS through to KS4 in a warm and creative environment.
