We’re on the hunt for a talented Assistant Underwriter to join our Navigators & General team in Brighton. You will support our underwriting team with Pleasurecraft business, so we would be delighted to hear from you if you enjoy sailing and are passionate about the marine industry. If not, we’d still love to hear from you as all training will be provided. You will handle renewal enquiries, assist with producing quotes, and liaise with our brokers and customers. You will develop the underwriting and trading skills needed to help drive the business forwards.
You will be part of Navigators & General, a specialist marine business within Geo Underwriting Services Limited. Geo is the UK Commercial MGA for Ardonagh Advisory and a Gold rated Investor in Customer Insurance, specialising in Agriculture, Construction, Property, Liability, Marine, and Protection lines.

* Respond to customer and broker enquiries professionally and efficiently.
* Complete diarised tasks within set timeframes.
* Maintain agreed service levels.

* Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements.
* Operate within personal authority limits and delegated parameters.
* Achieve individual targets while contributing to team goals.
What are we looking for in our next Assistant Underwriter?
As an Assistant Underwriter, you’ll be underwriting new and existing business. This means you’ll be in a market-facing role, so it’s important that you are great at communicating and are passionate about providing excellent customer service. You will be a self-starter, with strong organisation skills and a desire to learn. You will look for opportunities to develop yourself and the business you are joining.
We’ll support and train you in all the technical aspects of the role and will make sure that you feel part of the team from day one.
