Our client based in New Milton has a requirement for an experienced Senior Technologist to join their manufacturing team on a permanent basis.
This is a wide-ranging role which will see you leading the technical side of a customer account, the main purpose of the role will be to work with customers, suppliers, and other departments to deliver on customer expectations and technical requirements.
The main responsibilities will include:
To be lead contact on technical matters with assigned customers.
To work with other technologists to achieve technical requirements for the customer.
Represent the company positively in meetings with customers and suppliers.
To ensure all customer product has an accurate and achievable specification.
To agree product specifications with customers, suppliers, NPD, and the Management.
To manage the temporary specification process for assigned customers.
To work with NPD to ensure hardware meets technical requirements and is true-to-type.
To distribute final customer specifications to the wider business and ensure compliance.
To organise and conduct pre-productions internally and with customers to ensure the success of product launches.
Undertaking site visits when required.
To compile and report on customer complaints to the business and customers.
To suggest and implement improvement strategies to improve customer complaints.
To investigate and report on general customer technical requirements.
To maintain up-to-date records on customer technical IT systems.
Facilitate good team working between the technical team and other teams in the business.
To assist (or lead if required) developing audit readiness for the business.
Applicants will have recent and extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in a horticultural / commercial glasshouse setting; a relevant university qualification would also be advantageous.
General technical knowledge (legislative, customer, health & safety) is vital, as is good plant, hardware and audit knowledge.
By nature, you will have a proven attention to detail, good computer literacy and experience of presenting to groups.
This is a full-time and permanent site-based position, hours are 07:30 am 16:30 pm Monday to Friday. The starting salary will be from £40k £42k dependent on skills and experience, there is also a relocation allowance if required.
