BCL Legal has been instructed on a fantastic opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a leading national law firm in Birmingham. This position sits within a highly regarded insurance disputes team and offers the chance to work on complex and high-quality matters within a supportive and collegiate environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will advise on a wide range of insurance coverage and claims defence matters. Work will involve:
- Advising insurers on policy coverage and interpretation issues.
- Handling professional indemnity claims for a broad spectrum of professionals, including solicitors, barristers, construction consultants, financial services professionals, and insurance brokers.
- Managing disputes through litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.
- Providing strategic advice on claims and risk management.
- This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a number of well-regarded partners in the Birmingham market, whilst also contributing to national and cross-office projects.

Candidate Requirements
Applications are sought from candidates with:
- Strong academics and excellent written communication skills.
- Solid experience of insurance disputes, ideally professional indemnity, gained at a recognised firm.
- Strong knowledge of pre-action protocols, litigation, and dispute resolution processes.
- A proactive, team-focused approach with leadership or supervisory experience.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to develop and strengthen client relationships.
- Strong organisational skills and an ability to manage a busy caseload effectively.
