About The Role
Working Days: 0800 to 1700 Monday to Friday
Function:
Mainly to support their line manager in the delivery of Hard FM services to Aberdeenshire Council. To support the NBU managers where required in the delivery of the existing FM contracts. To directly supervise a team of employed operatives and FES FM’s supply chain. This will be achieved via the practical implementation of the company’s management system (QUEST) and the utilisation of the supervisor’s knowledge and experience, increasing the quality of output from Engineers, maximising the effectiveness of sub-contractors, and ensuring efficient use of materials.
Direct Reports:
The supervisor shall report to the operations manager(s) and senior supervisors. The supervisor shall have the NBU engineers reporting directly to them who are based within Northeast Scotland.
Responsibilities
To ensure the satisfactory performance and further development of all contracts and accounts for which he/she is responsible including:
* Take an active role in the management of all quality, environmental and health & safety issues at each of the sites for which he/she is responsible in compliance with company policies and arrangements.
* Ensure there are no gaps with regards to Statutory Maintenance Tasks.
* Performance management of subordinates.
* 1st line management of HR issues i.e. ensuring company policies are fully implemented.
* Compliance with contractual requirements.
* To ensure that PPMs and reactive works are completed within the assigned priority (using MI from the asset management and helpdesk systems to measure and monitor performance).
* Ensuring that project works are completed on time, in budget and to the required quality levels.
* Maximisation of extra revenue streams.
* Client satisfaction and the quality of service provided.
* Responsibility for all day-to-day management, control, co-ordination, execution of all operations under their remit and reporting directly to their operations manager and senior supervisor.
* Identifying and implementing innovations to improve service delivery.
* Ensuring continuity of systems in a manner, which fully complies with all legal, qualitative, health, safety and environmental standards and other relevant guidance.
* To ensure that tools, equipment and materials are available as and when required to ensure the effective delivery of the service. And that all portable equipment has an up-to-date PAT.
* Ensuring, demonstrate, review and monitor compliance, to meet the expectation and needs of the Client, the organisational goals of the company and satisfy the requirements of ISO 9001, 14001, 50001 & OHSAS 18001.
* Productions of reports at regular intervals determined by contract detailing physical progress, including monitoring of Output specification by Key performance indicators and as required by their line managers.
* Provision of technical advice and problem-solving function. The ability to draft detailed proposals for additional works.
* Monitoring of operatives and professional oversight of all works to ensure satisfactory quality levels.
* Provide management support to both operations manager, senior supervisor and the operatives under their control as required.
* To provide support throughout the full geographic coverage of the contract he/she is responsible for under the instruction of their operations manager and senior supervisor.
* To aid their technicians by means of technical support.
* Ensuring the availability of and if required participation in the provision of a 24 hour per day 365 days per year emergency on call service as required.
* Developing the competency of themselves and others through a commitment to continuing professional development.
* Developing the contract base and supply chain within the geographic area.
* To maintain a driving licence to remain mobile.
* To operate within the on-call rota and be available to other operatives for support.
Ongoing account management including:
* Client satisfaction.
* Contract profitability.
* Quoting for remedial and small project works.
* Maximisation and management of quoted works.
* Effective sourcing and utilisation of materials and subcontractors.
* Monitoring the quality of the work carried out by the workforce through random engineer audits and the ongoing review of breakdowns.
* Conduct regular site audits to ensure that the specified standard of work is maintained and all site logs, job files and documentation are kept up to date.
* Provide management support and information to the operatives and others as required.
* Ensure the development and potential of all direct reports, to encourage resilience and succession planning within the account and the organisation.
