Overview
We are looking to appoint a Technology Technician to be based at Kenilworth School to support a large and busy department. This is an interesting post for an experienced Technology Technician, but training can be given to a suitable candidate. Knowledge and/or formal training and experience of using design packages (CAD/CAM) to support laser cutters and 3D printers would be advantageous, but not essential.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the maintenance of machinery and equipment, ensuring it is fit for purpose and compliant in safety checks.
* Organising for the machinery to be checked and repaired as required.
* Prepare materials and equipment for lessons.
* Maintain and provide for safe storage of stock (materials, resources and equipment).
* Assist teaching staff with practical lessons.
* Undertake Health & Safety record keeping as required.
* Undertake First Aid duties as a qualified first aider required.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, be well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks. We are looking to appoint a candidate with experience of either food or design technology. Experience of or knowledge of adhering to health and safety procedures is desirable. Experience of working in a DT department, with a range of machinery, or hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or experience of working in a professional kitchen would also be desirable and advantageous.
About Kenilworth School and KMAT
In September 2023 we opened our doors of Kenilworth School after relocating to a brand new, bespoke campus on Glasshouse Lane in Kenilworth. The Technology Department is split over three floors, comprising of 3 workshops (one with attached laser cutting room), 1 CAD/ CAM classroom, 2 Food preparation and Nutrition classrooms, 3 Textiles classrooms, 1 large Technology staff base and 3 prep rooms. All classrooms are fully equipped with large interactive TV screens.

Our recent Ofsted report of November 2023 rates the school as Outstanding in all five areas, maintaining our Outstanding status from the Ofsted inspection of 2013. Hours, benefits and safeguarding
Hours of work: 8.30am to 4.00pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak). Working pattern: Monday to Friday, term time only.
