Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team, Minimum two years optical retail experience in the UK. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the team in providing exceptional eye care services, managing reminder systems and processing data to help us remain compliant and maximise performance. This position requires a strong understanding of how GOS paperwork, payments/NHS works as well as excellent interpersonal skills to assist patients effectively.
Duties
* Conduct preliminary tests, including measuring pressures, auto-refraction and performing initial assessments.
* Maintain the practice appearance, frame stock, update patient records
* Process orders for eyewear, including lenses and frames, while ensuring accuracy in prescriptions.
* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient enquiries and concerns.
* Keep accurate records of patient information, making appointments and diary management.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow within the practice.
Experience
* Previous experience in an UK optical practice is essential, two years minimum.
* Excellent knowledge of frame selection and adjustments
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential.
* A keen attention to detail and organisational skills are necessary for managing the day to day running of the practice.
