We are working with a well-established consultancy based in Birmingham, providing engineering and infrastructure solutions across the Midlands and the UK. With a growing portfolio of transport and highways projects, they are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Highways Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The Role
As an Associate Highways Engineer, you will take a leadership role in the design, delivery, and management of a variety of highways and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and delivery of highways and transportation projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
* Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and technicians.
* Manage project programmes, budgets, and resources to achieve successful delivery.
* Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications in line with DMRB and local authority standards.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders to build strong relationships and ensure expectations are met.
* Contribute to business development activities, including bid writing and client presentations.
About You
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership (ICE/CIHT).
* Significant experience in highway design and delivery, preferably within a consultancy environment.
* Strong knowledge of UK design standards (DMRB, Manual for Streets, etc.) and industry software (Civil 3D, MX, AutoCAD).
* Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple projects effectively.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
* A collaborative approach and commitment to mentoring junior staff.
