Solar Panel Fitter – North East (Teesside) Basic Salary: £30,000–£35,000 per annum (PAYE) Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5pm) Contract: Permanent Location: Field-based across the North East Industry: Renewables / Electrical / Solar PV Unify is proud to be supporting our client — a leading energy efficiency provider and ECO4 delivery partner — in their search for a skilled Solar Panel Fitter to join their growing renewables team. Operating across Teesside and the wider North East, this role plays a key part in delivering funded solar PV installations that support carbon reduction, fuel poverty alleviation, and the UK’s net zero goals. Role Overview You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of rooftop solar PV systems on residential properties, working alongside the Electrical Team to ensure high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction. This is a field-based role requiring a strong understanding of electrical systems, safe working practices, and a commitment to workmanship and compliance. Key Responsibilities * Install rooftop-mounted solar PV systems * Secure mounting systems and ensure correct alignment * Connect panels to inverters and integrate with existing electrics * Follow health & safety regulations and site protocols * Collaborate with other trades and team members * Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles * Represent the company professionally and deliver excellent customer service Requirements * Experience in solar panel installation or roofing/electrical work * Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring * Comfortable working at heights and in variable weather * Full UK driving licence * Strong attention to detail and safety awareness * Ability to read technical drawings and installation manuals * Good communication and teamwork skills Desirable * Experience fitting solar PV on commercial premises * Roofing qualification * CSCS card Benefits * £30,000–£35,000 salary (based on experience) * 30 days holiday (including bank holidays) * Long-service holiday incentives * Company pension scheme * Company vehicle * Paid overtime (Time and a Quarter for Saturday rota) * On-site parking * Regular company events * Supportive team culture To Apply: UnifyHQ is supporting our client in identifying high-calibre Solar professionals across the UK.
