About Our Client
This growing, medium-sized accountancy firm in London has a Business Services team which provides technical financial reporting advice to clients in the financial services sector.
Job Description
Provide quality accounting services to clients in the financial services sector, with a focus on financial reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS.
3. Managing a growing client portfolio, as well as carry out all accounting work for a wide range of profit-making organisations in accordance with the firm's and statutory procedures. This will include planning, executing, completing and producing client-ready product independently and with minimum supervision.
4. Prepare financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
5. Prepare detailed consolidation workings for groups to support the financial statement preparation process.
6. Support year end process through liaison with external auditors in a timely and professional manner.
7. Research, draft and respond to client technical queries covering IFRS and UK GAAP corporate reporting matters, working both independently and supporting senior team members.
8. Developing and maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading, research and appropriate development and training requirements.
9. Liaise with clients continually on topics including communicating job status, resolving technical queries and seeking required information relevant for the financial statements.
10. Potential to maintain a small portfolio of clients that require monthly/quarterly management accounts and VAT reporting.
11. Delegating, supervising, and reviewing the work of junior members of the team, providing feedback and support as necessary, including being involved in the development of junior staff.
12. Understand the specification of the assignment agreed with the client and report immediately to the Manager (or Partner) if and when this specification may need to be changed.
13. Support the Manager and/or Partner with client pitch documentation and meetings.
The Successful Applicant
14. ACCA or ACA qualified
15. Experience of preparing statutory accounts and management accounts gained in a medium or large accountancy firm
16. Knowledge and experience of UK GAAP, specifically an understanding of FRS102
17. Knowledge and experience of IFRS
18. Excellent communication skills
19. Client facing experience, preferably within the financial services sector
20. MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
21. Accounting software knowledge and experience - Sage, QuickBooks or Xero
