Tasks
We are lookingfor parttime Tutors in and around North Somerset with the abilityto teach GCSE English Maths and/or Science.

Primary Purpose ofJob:
To provide bespoke tutoringto young people aged between 718 years old
Hours:
Each placement will be between 210 hours acrossthe week. Timings are negotiable. Once agreed placements take placeat a consistent time each week termtimeonly.
Contract: SelfEmployed
HourlyRate: 28.36
PersonSpecification
You will be expectedto plan and deliver a customised tutoring programme to the youngpeople assigned to you. You will have an adaptable and flexibleapproach and be able to cater to each individual young personsspecial educational needs as set out in theirEHCP.
Tutoring on a one to one basis you willneed to work creatively and intuitively be empathetic to the youngpersons requirements and provide professional and reliable support.
The young people we typically work with have anEHCP often have social and emotional health needs and are likely tonot be attending school. Using their ECHP outcomes you will providea learning pathway that the young person can access to supporttheir transition back to an educational setting and/or achievequalifications as appropriate.
The rightcandidate will be working to a high professional standardsupporting young people to engage in education and buildresilience.
Requirements
Essential
* Teachingqualification such as PGCE QTS orequivalent
* Ability to quickly build positiverelationships with young people and theirfamilies
* An empathetic approach to learningwith the ability to boost a students confidence and selfesteem withan ambition for young people to reach theirpotential
* Commitment reliability honesty andlots of patience
* Excellentcommunication
* Ability to extensivelydifferentiate planning and teaching
* A validenhanced DBS check (or an existing DBS on the updateservice)
* Clear understanding of safeguardingand child protection legislation
* Experienceworking with young people with an EHCP
* Valid UKdrivers licence and use of a car for work
* Rightto live and work within theUK
SpecificResponsibilities
* Planningdifferentiated tutoring sessions dependant on the young personsneeds
* Preparing students for exams ortests
* Support young people to achieve theirtargets set out in their EHCP
* Timely submission(within 24 hours) of tutoring session summaryreports
* Maintaining uptodate subjectknowledge
* Marking and assessing work andhomework regularly providing constructive feedback tostudents
* Maintaining student attendance andprogress records
* Displaying professionalism atall times representing the aims of thecharity
* Practical knowledge of safeguarding andchildprotection
