Overview
Our client is a dynamically growing company in the Air Chartering business with a diverse fleet operating worldwide. The company is located at Diamond Hangar, Stansted Airport, and is looking for a Safety Manager to join their Safety and Compliance team, reporting to the Accountable Manager.
Main Duties:
* Develop, establish, and manage the Safety Management System.
* Ensure that the Safety Management Manual, Hazard Log, and Safety Key Performance Indicators are developed and maintained.
* Manage the Flight Data Monitoring programme.
* Develop and keep updated the Emergency Response Plan and procedures, and organize and participate in actual or practice emergency responses.
* Initiate and follow-up on internal occurrence/accident investigations.
* Facilitate hazard identification, safety risk analysis, and management.
* Administer safety-related and fatigue risk surveys.
* Plan and facilitate staff safety training, ensuring it meets applicable standards.
* Act as facilitator of the SRB and SAG meetings.
* Maintain appropriate organizational aviation safety records and statistics as required by regulations.
* Update the Accountable Manager periodically on the status of the company’s SMS through reports, trends, and safety meetings.
* Oversee the revision and upkeep of the Safety Management Manual.
* Conduct scheduled Safety Management Audits.
* Represent the company with Civil Aviation Authorities and other organizations on safety matters.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
* Management system principles training (including safety management, policy, human factors, and compliance monitoring), MOE Training, Part 145 training.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Part 145 and related requirements and procedures.
* Understanding of EU management system requirements, safety management systems, and compliance monitoring.
* At least 12 months of experience in Aerospace Safety Management, preferably in an EASA 145 environment.
* Holds an engineering degree, or a CPL, ATPL, Flight Dispatcher's qualification, Part 66 license, or recognized aerospace apprenticeship.
* Knowledge of aircraft types maintained within the scope of approval, demonstrated through training or assessment.
* Recognized training or qualification in auditing techniques.
* Knowledge of ICAO Annexes, standards, and recommended practices.
* Understanding of aviation regulations, especially European regulations and EASA guidelines.
* Experience in accident/incident investigations and root cause analysis.
* Knowledge of hazard identification and risk management.
* Ability to communicate effectively with the Accountable Manager.
The Safety Manager’s qualifications and experience are subject to approval by EASA & UKCAA through the Resume & Form 4 interview process.
