This is an excellent opportunity for a surgeon in training to undertake a consolidated period of research. This is a replacement post following submission of a PhD thesis by the previous post holder. There is no formal on call commitment, but the successful candidate would be able to undertake on call shifts at ST4 /equivalent level where appropriate. This is a fixed-term post until 01.02.2027
This is a full time role with a primary focus on the delivery of surgical research. The post holder can expect to learn about a variety of research modalities, but the anticipated focus will be clinical trial based. The supervised set up, delivery and interpretation of this research would be the main role of the candidate, and it would be expected that this work would form the basis of a PhD submission at the affiliated university (university of Buckingham) under the supervision of the research team. Additional tuition fees are not currently covered by the post, but additional funding applications will be fully supported as part of the academic supervision provided.
