A Vacancy at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity for a highly motivated and well organised individual to join the team of Medical Secretaries within Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Scarborough Hospital.
This varied secretarial role is to support Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and their teams with communication, administrative and secretarial tasks, while also providing support to patients, assisting with queries and concerns, and engaging with the wider clinical team and other key stakeholders such as GPs. Responding to these queries in a timely manner to maintain a responsive service.
Responsibilities
* Typing of clinics and general correspondence, complex diary management and provision of patient data.
* Dealing with correspondence from patients, GPs and other sources, including the scheduling of appointments to ensure referral to treatment targets are met.
Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum of two years recent secretarial/admin experience.
* Proficient typing skills, particularly in audio-typing, and experience of digital dictation.
* Knowledge of medical terminology (advantageous).
* Well organized, able to prioritise own workload in a fast paced environment and work independently to meet strict deadlines.
* Efficient and resilient team player with flexible approach to work and willingness to learn.
