Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a fast-follower in the Digitalisation of Hospital Services, building on a strong foundation of 20 years of electronic prescribing. We have two acute general hospitals (Royal Hampshire County Hospital and Basingstoke & North Hants Hospital) and a community hospital (Andover War Memorial Hospital) to provide a wide range of clinical services to the population of North and Mid Hampshire, and to the wider health system as one of two tertiary referral centres for Pseudomyxoma peritonei in the UK.
Main duties of the job
·To lead, develop, deliver and evaluate the Clinical Pharmacy Service provided by Medicines Information, with responsibility for business planning and staff management in line with pharmacy service need.
·To assist the Lead Speciality Pharmacists, Associate Director of Pharmacy and senior managers in providing a comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical service for the patients of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
·To support the evaluation of the Clinical Pharmacy Service provided at discharge, alongside the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, with feedback from the Patient Helpline and Medicines Information Service.
·To provide training and support for trainees and pharmacy staff with respect to Medicines Information.
·To ensure that the highest standards of clinical care are continuously delivered.
·To act as an Independent Non-medical Prescriber, in accordance with the Health & Social Care Act 2001, maintaining a formulary and competence in line with Trust Policy.
