Hillary Cooper Law is currently looking for a fully qualified Solicitor for Civil Litigation Practice with demonstrable experience and keen interest in any or some of the following areas of law: Social Housing, Judicial Review; Landlord & Tenant; and Commercial Law, Employment, Private Client and Probate.
Position: Full / Part time (3 to 5 days a week) | Benefits: To Be Negotiated with Successful Candidates | Location: London Bromley | Applicants must be qualified with at least 3 years PQE.
Qualifications
* An excellent command of English written and spoken.
* A strong interest in and demonstrable experience in Property Law, Civil Litigation, Employment Law, Landlord and Tenant Law, Commercial Law, Disputes Resolution.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills: You will be able to give legal advice and case management directions in a clear, concise and well‑organised manner tailored for different audiences.
* Team player and collaborator: You will bring positive energy to the role. You will be proactive in developing business relationships with people and connecting with your peers; and you will have a flexible style that means you work well with different types of people from diverse backgrounds.
* Integrity: Your excellent organisational skills and attention to detail mean you will consistently deliver on commitments, providing timely and well‑thought‑out legal advice and information.
* Sound judgment: You will demonstrate good judgement based on business/commercial awareness and offer sound advice regarding risk assessments. You know when to escalate a matter, who should be involved in key decisions, how to adapt to constantly changing priorities; and how to manage deadlines for a large and varied case‑workload.
Responsibilities
Your role includes, but is not limited to the following:
* Drafting, reviewing and/or amending legal documents.
* Carrying out sound legal research and other relevant research.
* Dealing with and resolving legal enquiries from clients.
* Confidently communicating via telephone, video conferencing, in writing; and face‑to‑face with clients.
* Participating in our in‑house team meetings and external training/seminar events.
* Business development and maintaining ongoing client relationships.
* Legal drafting skills: Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate written letters of advice, reports, attendance notes, research memos, statements of case and other legal documents.
* Adhering to professional ethics & SRA code of conduct – dealing with conflicts professionally and being able to organise and prioritise a varied workload efficiently.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A detail‑oriented individual with the ability to create and execute case strategy.
* Approachable and collaborative.
* An excellent team player who has the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Good PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook.
