Offer description

Here at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our community podiatry team as a Band 5 Podiatrist on a permanent contract.

We are looking to recruit a motivated, forward-thinking, HCPC Registered Podiatrist with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a community setting delivering high-quality patient-centred care.

As a community Podiatrist, you will be required to use your initiative and provide a range of high-quality podiatric interventions across various locations, including clinical settings, domiciliary visits, nursing homes, and other external environments throughout the Wakefield district.

Our podiatry service offers a supportive and stimulating team environment, along with benefits associated with a modern NHS organisation. Staff receive regular appraisals to support professional development and a comprehensive induction package.

If you share our passion for patient-centred care, we welcome you to join our warm, friendly team committed to helping you achieve your career ambitions. This role is suitable for new graduates or recently qualified Podiatrists seeking to develop their clinical skills.

Core working hours are a 9-day fortnight, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and alternate Fridays from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Main duties of the job

1. Develop and implement clinically effective podiatric interventions for the Wakefield District population, delivering services from various locations based on service needs.
2. Utilise clinical reasoning, critical thinking, analysis, and reflection to support assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, developing individualised treatment plans for patients with foot pathology and medical needs.
3. Provide general care in diverse settings including clinical, domiciliary, hospital, and nursing homes.
4. Work as a highly motivated team member to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
5. Undertake nail surgery assessments and procedures.
6. Participate in placements for students and support undergraduate Podiatrists and trainee Podiatry assistants delivering care.

We are an acute trust serving over one million people in Wakefield and Kirklees, with 10,000 staff working across hospitals and community settings.

We are committed to continuous improvement, valuing our people and fostering an inclusive environment that promotes diversity, equality, and well-being. Our staff networks facilitate open conversations and idea sharing to enhance workplace culture.

Benefits include NHS pension, generous holiday allowance, employee health and wellbeing services, onsite nurseries, childcare vouchers, car schemes, and support for working carers.

If you value caring, high standards, continuous improvement, and respect, join the MY team to make a difference every day.
