Milk Education is partnering with a primary school in Hindley Green (WN2) to recruit a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with Autism on a one-to-one basis. This role begins immediately and is a long-term temporary position.

The Year 1 Teaching Assistant role is full-time, working Monday to Friday and the working hours are 08:30am- 15:30pm.

The school is seeking a patient, nurturing individual who can provide consistent support, keep the child focused, and help meet their individual learning needs. Responsibilities include preparing resources, supporting daily tasks, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment. Experience with SEND and a calm, supportive approach are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide one-to-one support for a Year 1 pupil with Autism
2. Keep the child engaged and on task throughout the school day
3. Prepare daily resources and support learning activities
4. Foster a positive, nurturing learning environment
5. Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff

Requirements:

6. Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism (desirable)
7. Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills
9. Commitment to supporting the child’s academic and emotional development
