Are you an experienced IT Project Manager looking for your next contract role in the public sector?
We’re currently seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and deliver a range of IT and business-related projects for a public sector organisation based in West Lothian. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled contractor to take ownership of varied and complex projects, working within an established IT project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage multiple IT and business-focused projects from initiation or mid-flight through to successful delivery.
Quickly assess current project status using documentation and stakeholder engagement.
Collaborate with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers to manage technical and operational aspects of delivery.
Ensure alignment with organisational priorities while managing dependencies across the wider portfolio.
Provide clear communication and regular reporting to senior stakeholders.
Support change initiatives with appropriate governance and risk management.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Degree in an IT discipline or equivalent experience.
PRINCE2 Foundation certification (or above).
8+ years of experience delivering complex IT projects.
Proven ability to pick up and successfully manage projects mid-flight.
Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
Experience delivering projects across various technology platforms.
Proficiency in supplier management and ICT procurement, ideally within the public sector.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills.
Familiarity with ITIL practices.
Desirable:
ITIL v3 Foundation certification or higher.
Knowledge of COBIT, FOI, and Data Protection Legislation.
Experience delivering EDRMS (Electronic Document and Records Management Systems) projects.
Awareness of IT Service Continuity procedures.
