Job Summary
To provide high-quality support and engagement for children, young people, and families attending sports and leisure activities at the YMCA. You will help create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment that aligns with our mission to support the local community.
Responsibilities
Facilitate Programmes: Actively participate in the delivery of after-school clubs, school holiday activities, youth clubs, and other community sessions.
Engage with Service Users: Build positive, professional relationships with children and families. Ensure that all participants feel included, safe, and encouraged to get the most out of the activities provided.
Review & Improve: Assist in reviewing the success of activities in conjunction with service users and YMCA staff to ensure we are meeting the community's needs.
Safety & Standards
Health & Safety: Maintain a safe environment by proactively checking the building and equipment, reporting any damage or hazards immediately.
First Aid: Act as a designated First Aider when required, ensuring the immediate welfare of visitors and staff.
Confidentiality: Strictly adhere to GDPR standards, maintaining confidentiality regarding all work with the organisation and its service users.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, registers, and logs for schemes, clubs, and activities as required by management.
Teamwork & Development
Support Volunteers: Assist in the training, guidance, and supervision of YMCA volunteers, ensuring they feel supported in their roles.
Collaboration: Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, group leaders, and partners from other agencies.
Professional Growth: Attend relevant team meetings and training courses, and undertake other specified duties that contribute to the success of the YMCA.
Hours
Minimum 20 hours to include 5 evenings and 2 day sessions. Additional hours can be available to cover school holiday clubs and staff absences for holidays and sickness.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 36 per week
