Our Crick (NN6 7GZ) site is recruiting for a Shift Engineer on a full‑time basis.
Shift:
Monday‑Friday 06:00am‑14:00pm and 14:00pm‑22:00pm on a weekly rotation.
Salary:
£42,000 per annum - £47,500 per annum.
Job Description:
To ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the technical function and that company quality standards are adhered to. The post holder must be able to work under pressure both as part of a team and on their own initiative. They must also communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of the department, make independent decisions, and liaise with other departments.
* Assisting the Production team where possible.
* Providing engineering solutions and assisting in an operational capacity.
* Monitoring all machines and ancillary plant.
* Following preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules.
* Performing repairs during production.
* Planning maintenance.
* Inspections outside production hours; some weekend overtime working will be required to suit the business needs.
* Carrying out scheduled work to restore machines and the site back to standard.
* Conducting changeovers when required.
* Seeking opportunities to continuously improve machine performance.
* Assisting in colleague training and development when required.
* Ensuring that good work practices and housekeeping are adhered to.
* Driving personal development through training and work‑based experience.
* Undertaking such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.
Qualifications:
* Experience of working in a food factory environment would be advantageous.
* A fully completed apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience.
* Basic computer literacy.
* Ability to communicate and motivate others is an essential part of the role, with an understanding of internal systems and processes. A knowledge of health and safety requirements is essential.
* Self‑driven, results‑oriented with a positive disposition and a clear focus on meeting deadlines. Must be flexible in approach to work and be willing to undertake overtime during busy periods when required.
