Our client has been established for over 140 years, supplying high quality products and services to a wide range of industries. Their customers are as diverse as their products including multinational blue chip organisations as well as small independents
They offer full design, stress analysis, manufacture, and galvanising on site. Their bespoke steel fabricated products are provided to the highest standard and with a valued and experienced team they are looking to add to this by hiring an experienced mechanical design/project engineer.
Working with a highly accomplished engineering department in this wide and varied role responsibilities will include:
* Leading and managing engineering projects, to achieve the Company’s goals
* Understanding the capabilities of all manufacturing plant procedures and processes within the Company
* Ensuring that all equipment is designed to perform safely, reliably and effectively within the boundaries of current applicable legislation and standards
* Ensuring, in consultation with Production Management, that all equipment is designed to enable efficient production and transport techniques
* Keeping informed of current and changing trends in the markets
* Maintaining links with advisory, experimental and industry bodies
* Keeping informed of all current and proposed legislation which will or may affect current or proposed products
* Re-designing existing products as requirements/materials/workshop procedures change
* Ensuring that all new products are developed effectively by producing prototypes
* To ensure that pre-production products can be manufactured efficiently without compromising functionality
* Overseeing the fabrication of prototypes of selected products
* Overseeing tests/field trials, prototypes and identify varying conditions and assess performance
* Establishing supplies of bought in parts via purchasing and liaise when necessary with supplier’s technical sales staff.
* Ensuring that the Company’s policy regarding Quality is applied in Development
* Keeping abreast of relevant engineering developments and organisations
* Carry out other legitimate reasonable tasks as requested by the management team
Ideally you will be degree qualified or similar and your experience will be in a similar environment (welding, fabrication and assembly). Excellent salary and benefits package available for the right candidate
