Job Role: Lead Buyer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Buyer to join our specialist and experienced Building Services company providing to the Energy, Food Processing and Pharmaceutical Industry with a unique service. We provide a unique service from concept, advising and partnering with our clients to ensure the correct mechanical and electrical solution bespoke to their needs.
The Role:
* Work closely with related departments to purchase materials based on operational requirements and specifications.
* Build scheduling, materials planning, build budget management
* Ensure all drawings and specifications are correct and sent to the supplier at the time of order placement.
* Agree on costs, delivery schedules and payment terms.
* Ensure all documentation is correct and complies with international purchasing and customs regulations.
* Ensure delivery dates are accurate and any changes are communicated to the relevant stakeholders, follow up with suppliers for issues with late deliveries.
* Liaise with Finance to assist with any invoicing queries and supplier terms.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, evaluate regular as needed and research new potential suppliers.
* Provide market updates, for example, price increases, supplier updates and stay informed on market and industry trends.
* Recognise potential purchasing risks and mitigate where possible.
* Lead negotiations to ensure efficient workflow and pricing.
* Provide metrics to key senior management when required.
* Assist with identifying areas for improvement in an effective way.
