Overview
We are keen to recruit clinical psychologists to work with us in our East IHC Neurodevelopmental Service for children and young people aged 5-18. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a service which is keen to develop and innovate. The post will cover the areas of Wrexham and Flintshire. Applications are welcome from those seeking to join at band 7, with a development plan to transition to band 8A once the required competencies are achieved. Experienced clinical psychologists who would like to be considered for a band 8A position are equally welcome to apply.
Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome to apply; the ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
Main duties of the job
You will work with clinical and assistant psychologists, completing neurodevelopmental assessments and brief interventions as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will have opportunities to contribute to service development, audit and research, and develop leadership, supervision and consultation skills. Regular clinical supervision will be provided by a Senior Clinical Psychologist. The team has established links with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme, providing regular placements and training. Within the East IHC, we have a supportive network of child psychologists across specialisms for peer and professional support.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist
* Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or for those trained overseas), as accredited by the British Psychological Society
* Good honours Degree in Psychology
* Clinical supervision training for Doctoral Trainees
* Doctoral level advanced knowledge of clinical psychology theory and practice, psychological therapies and their application, neuropsychological and psychometric assessment and interpretation
* Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including multivariate data analysis as practised within clinical psychology
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development as recommended by the BPS and HCPC
Experience
Essential criteria
* Substantial assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, normally including significant post-qualification experience within the designated specialty where the post is located, or relevant transferable skills
* Evidence of further specialist training or experience through extensive and demonstrable clinical supervision of working as a clinical psychologist
* Experience of specialised psychological assessment and treatment of a range of clients across a wide range of care settings
* Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients’ psychological care, with experience of coordinating care within the context of multi-disciplinary care-planning
